7 No-fail Steps To Quitting Smoking By Cold Turkey Method

By: Welldec

Those who choose to go Cold Turkey and break the smoking habit quickly, rather than rely on drugs to help them quit, have the advantage of knowing that they will soon be enjoying the satisfaction of quitting and the sense of wellbeing, good health and financial benefits of being a non-smoker.

From my experience as a '20 or more' a day smoker in the mid 70's, giving up smoking was not easy. There were no restrictions on smoking then, nor did anyone realize the damage that smoking was doing to our health.

I reckon 80% of my friends smoked and you could smoke to your heart's content in pubs, clubs, offices, cars, buses, 'planes, restaurants - you name it. Temptation was everywhere you went, and especially noticeable when you were trying to break the habit.

It was often too tempting to accept a smoke offered in a pub, club or restaurant, or by a mate at work, and once you broke your commitment to quit, you were back to square one.

Little was known about the harmful effects of smoking until the mid 70's, but, when smokers realized the harm they were doing to themselves, the need to quit took on new proportions and more and more quit the habit. Many of my friends, who were heavy smokers, quit Cold Turkey. There were no other options.

Surely it must be easier to quit now when smokers are in the minority and smoking is banned in so many places like pubs, clubs and restaurants.

Here are 7 No Fail Steps to Quit Smoking.

1. The first step 'to make up you mind' is vital.

2. Analyze your reasons for quitting - health, environment, cost etc.

3. You must know clearly why you want to quit - set a goal.

4. Visualize the benefits you'll experience by quitting - taste your food again, get back your sense of smell, be fit, and have more money in your pocket.

5. Adopt the belief and attitude that you are a Non-Smoker.

6. Promise yourself that you will never light up another cigarette.

7. Once you make up your mind, once you are committed, the quicker you do it the better.

Don't stuff around - just go for it!!
