There are many ways that we use aluminum in our industries. From engineering to making artificial gems, there are so many uses of this versatile metal that it is impossible to list them all. It is available all over the world and is used as a cost effective substance in almost everything we use. Most of the aluminum metals we use now are alloys. This is to add strength to the metal. Aluminium oxide is an aluminum alloy and is used widely in industry. Its crystals are called corundum and form a hard substance that is used as an abrasive. It is also used for cutting tools. Aluminum oxide forms a protective layer on alluminum, allowing it to be resistent to further weathering. There are several alloys including aluminum bronzes that use aluminum to increase their corrosion resistence. Other common uses for aluminum oxide are in ceramics, for polishing and refractories. It is also used as a coating suspension for compact fluorescent light lamps. Aluminum is used for DVD chemical repair kits. Aluminium hydroxide is a chemical compound or combination of aluminium and hydrogen. It is a very stable form of aluminium and is used to make aluminium sulphate, which is a chemical used to treat water. Pharmacologically, aluminum hydroxide is used to made antacids. It is also used to make zealots, fire extinguishers, coating Titania pigments. Aluminum chloride is another compound of aluminum and chlorine. It is commonly used to make styrene, polystyrene and detergents. Aluminum sulphate is used as a water purifier, for making paper and in water treatment industry. Aluminum sulphate is used to etch lines in printing industry and is used as a mordant for dying textiles. Aluminum is a fine heat conductor so it is used for making coolers for machines. You can make your garden soil more acidic by adding aluminum sulphate to it. In recent times, drink cans are being made from aluminum and several endeavors undertaken to recycle these cans. These cans can be recycled into drink cans again thus creating a continuous chain of production with less energy consumption than digging out the metals in raw form from the cans. Aluminium is also used to make foil, which keeps food warm and protected. Foil can be used to wrap up rooms in winter to keep it warm. A huge sheet of foil, pasted on the insulation board can prevent the heat from escaping. Putting aluminium sheet around an outside light makes the light shine brighter. It can also be used to scrap the rust from your car, with the help of coke. Aluminum is one of the most important metal of world's economy, which manipulates 60% of the global economy. The worth of aluminum is a recent discovery made during the last 150 years. The Chinese people were the pathfinder in using aluminum since 300 A.D. It is a versatile metal with multipurpose usage. We need aluminum for our vehicles, in our homes and in the outer domain of industries. Today, without aluminum we cannot live our life to the fullest, technically or otherwise.
