The Many Benefits OF Exercise As we age, our bodies show signs of change, many of which are apparent, while others are quite subtle. Some people remain active as they age while some others show signs of many degenerative diseases. For some diseases, exercise is the only solution. It must be remembered that if every senior person does regular exercise, they can well remain active, alert and lively for a long time. The exercises for senior citizens do not have to be strenuous. Even mild exercises when done regularly can help them to remain active. One simply has to get out and move their body to remain active. There are many benefits of regular exercise. It is well known that regular exercise extends one’s life. Exercise not only strengthens the heart and prevents the occurrence of heart diseases, but also increases the strength and flexibility that are required for performing daily activities. By doing exercise, one can reduce depression and anxiety that is sometimes seen among the senior citizens. The other benefits of exercise is that there is decrease in bone loss as one ages, reduction of such chronic diseases like diabetics, increase of cognition and memory, increase in metabolism and at the same time lowering of body fat. It is through exercise that one can increase the overall energy levels and also build one’s self-esteem. To remain healthy, one also needs to eat healthy food. A healthy body has higher activity of the body level, resulting in burning of more fats. On the contrary, in an unhealthy body, the cells cannot regenerate, that means there are less cells to burn fats. The fats do not have the vitamins and minerals that can help the fats to change into energy as you exercise. One should exercise light to help the lean muscle to burn more fats and get good body shape. If exercise is done heavily, the muscles are not trained to burn fats effectively. It must be remembered that one must breathe well during exercise. By doing this, one uses the oxygen to effectively use the energy of the body. Otherwise, the energy is not used effectively and there is less fats burning. All your exercise must be done in a relaxed manner. Doing exercise in a relaxed manner makes you feel happy while at the same time your exercise is effective. There are many people who stop doing their exercise regime shortly after starting their exercise, say in two months. They find their exercise as a chore. However, there are ways to make one’s exercise a fun and enjoyable activity. One of the first requirements is not to put too much stress while doing one’s exercise. If situation permits, one should do exercise outdoors and at the same time enjoy the nature. Play your favorite music s you exercise. If exercise is done outdoors, one can use earphones, while being careful about the surrounding area. One can listen to some interesting music or book reading to make one’s exercise enjoyable and stress-free. A good advice is to watch your favorite song or program on your television as you exercise. One can ask one’s friend to join him or her in the exercise.
