Fireplace Cleaning Products Do not use regular cleaning products on fireplaces. The chemical residue the leave is often toxic, which will make your next fire a bad one. Use water like your ancestors! 8. Dirt on Ceilings Despite the best efforts of gravity, dirt and dust will get on your ceilings. Put on some goggles and wipe the ceiling with a mop. Definitely wear your cleaning clothes for this one. 9. Cleaning Kitchen Floors There is a particular procedure for cleaning kitchen floors. Sweep first, then mop, then sponge mop. Gets them gleaming every time. 10. Storing Cleaning Products Cleaning products are a bit dangerous around flames or too much heat. Store them in low, cool areas such as the bottom of a closet or under the sink. You spend more time in your home than anywhere else. Cleaning it top to bottom every so once in a while makes absolute sense. After all, who wants to live in a dump?
