It is vital that the massage will help to alleviate the stresses and strains that modern living can sometimes place a person under, and which can often lead to other health issues as well. Below are a number of good massage tips which will help to ensure that the massage you give to someone is not only enjoyable but safe also. 1. It is important that the area you use for the massage therapy sessions is one that will enable the person to relax in. If you can ensure that, the room is warm and use soothing colors on the walls. Also, if you can have the facility to play some kind of music, which will further help the person to relax whilst undergoing the massage. But only put the music on if they allow you to. 2. It is crucial that once every session with a person has been completed you replace all towels and sheets with new fresh ones. A person is far likely to relax when they know that the person treating them respects them and maintains the equipment they use to a high standard. 3. Even though you may not think your breath smells it is a good idea to have a few breath mints at hand, just in case. Also if you have just eaten then why not clean your teeth as well. You are going to be in close contact with the people you are treating and they may find it difficult to relax and get comfortable if as you work on them all they can smell is your garlic or onion breath. 4. It is important to remember that some of the people you are going to be giving massage therapy sessions to are going to be self conscious with regards to the way that their bodies look. These are going to be people who may be unwilling to remove their clothing initially so use techniques that does not require them to do this. Only after they have spent some time with you, should you suggest that they remove items of clothing in order to feel the full effects and benefits from the massage that you are giving to them. 5. When you actually start a massage therapy session always start off using light pressure. Then as the session progresses and the client becomes more relaxed and pliable can you start to place more pressure on the areas of the body that needs it the most. 6. Also do not use the same part of your hand throughout the massage session. What you should do is actually change the part of the hand as this will prevent you from tiring too quickly and which could actually reduce the effectiveness of the treatment. Whenever you are carrying out massage on someone it is important to remember that the person should be comfortable and happy with what is happening. If you keep the good massage tips above in mind then you will find that not only is the person much more relaxed but they will find the whole experience enjoyable and will in all likelihood return for further sessions with you.
