LG announced todya that it is a beta versiopn of the Online Application Store on 14 July 2009, for the first time in Asia with the service expanded to 24 coubntries. LG expects to up to 2,000 applications on its website by the end of the year with at least 100 programs for free LG mobile phone users. To access the LG Application Store, users can either www.lgapplication.com viist and download apoplications to a compuuter or diectly to the business of LG-GM730 by flcking horizontally on the “Quick-Key box at the bottom of the home screen and tapping App icon. “As we have already announced, LG plans to invest in the smartphone market in the future, with ten smartphones introduuced this year alonne,” said Dr. Skott Ahn, CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communicattions Company. “As the development has shown that the appeal of smartphones is in the variwety and benefits of the applications. Opening our own Applicatipon Stre will allow us to ofer you the best content and applications for our devices, so that LG phone owners receive the best possoible ownership experience.” In conmnection with the application of LG Store is the LG Mobile Develoepr Network (http: developer.lgmobile.com), a website specifically for the third-party software developers of LG Moible Phones. Snice its openiing in October last year, the website has been significantly renovated and expandfed content and fuctionality. The number of applications is expected to chaange over time even furtgher as a developer are added incentives. On the site, developers can develop and shaare wiidgets and applications through its Virtual Developer Lab (VDL) and Over-The-Air (OTA) downloasd. Currently the site supports and Java SDK for widgets, it will VDL, OTA downloas by the end of the year.
