First rap music was considered a nice way to have fun but their was a dark side, a reality that no one was paying attention to so groups like Public Enemy had to step up. Now people starting blaming rap music for vulgar lyrics and swear words. However, that was just a reflection of the the young black American society or in other words, a reality. Still no one paid that much attention and than it was just enough. No one in hip hop history especially the artist ever wanted to be a gangster rapper or labeled as one but the media really had the time of their lives talking about it. They made sure that all the negativity that was going on in America especially within the black youth should be blamed on nothing but rap music. Not realizing that rap music was nothing short of or simply just a reflection of the situation of the black youth. However, rap music became such a powerful force that it invaded all the suburbs and pretty much touched all the youth in America regardless their race or gender. Now rap music and hip was simply unstoppable. Rap stars were now selling out shows and concerts and traveling like the rock star use to. They had millions of fans all over in different major cities and were making millions my going gold and platinum every time a CD was dropped. Rap music became an household name and even little kids were getting into it. Naturally the parents didn't like it but that is what happened when rock music came out and stuff. Now again people started seeing somewhat of a downfall in rap music, so they stared saying stuff like rap music is going to die out and this it but than came two heroes. One from the west coast and one from the east. Tupac and Biggie tore up the entire industry and re-molded the whole genre. It was like a gift from the rap gods and after making the biggest impact ever, they both passed away in a deadly shooting. Regrettably, they didn't see eye to eye but their legacy and talent was out of this world. Regardless of what anyone says, I feel like rap music is just evolving. Hip hop is dead considering when it comes to the lyrics, but I won't really say that. I think it's evolving and their is going to be another artist or a few of them who are going to take hip hop to another level. This is my prediction and my promise.
