Scrumptious Delights For Spicing Up Your Parties

By: Natalie Delfos

It is popularly said that food is the fuel for any party or partygoers. Tasty and yummy food can change a dull party into the liveliest one. The party's echoing success generally depends upon the food served there, as it becomes the chief highlight and remains fresh on the memory of the attendants.

Always do some of thinking before designing the theme of the party. The theme can be as lively as cartoons, super hero or color theme for the children or an elegant one for charity rendezvous. Deciding for a theme is important as it also goes a long way in determining your menu. Another important determinant is the feel and the ambience of the party, whether it is a casual gathering, high culture meeting or even a fun party.

Next step is to decide on the style and time of day. The food you serve will be according to the time. People have certain expectations associated with certain times. For instance, they would expect a sort of brunch at eleven. You cannot host a dinner party at four o'clock in the afternoon or a tea party at ten o'clock in the morning. If you invite people at five o'clock in the evening they will expect a cocktail party with snacks and mixed drinks.

Choosing the menu is an art. It should cater to the age and style of your guests. For instance, you should not have foi gras and snails on your menu if your guests are children. Similarly, serving cheese and macaroni would be totally out of place for a high brow dinner for adults. The success of your party rests on the judicious selection of the menu.

It's part of party etiquette to choose the favorite menu of the person in whose honor you are throwing a specific party like a birthday, shower, or anniversary party. Serve that person's signature beverage and his or her favorite foods or desserts.

It is advisable to choose single hand clean food if it's a cocktail party. Choosing raw and heavy food may lead to a messier and dirty looking place. Despite the fact that Buffalo wings can be had at a single go still they can prove to be very chaotic for guests to eat. Instead of them always go in for mini pie or meat and cheese on nuts or small sandwiches. They are much neater and yummier fare.

Your dessert should be stunning. Many parties now feature a variety of desserts instead of a single, main attraction. Even brides are having miniature wedding cakes for each guest instead of the large traditional cake.

So food and menu counts to be the success after the party is over as nobody remembers the decoration and arrangements but the tastier bite of that yummy cake, that mouth watering lobsters and chilled but wonderful champagne. If you have ensured that the food is good, rest assured that your party has made its mark where its matters the most. They might not remember the details of how striking you looked, or the painstaking detail with which the venue was decorated but they are sure going to remember for long the taste of "Melt-in-your-mouth" cakes, refreshing drinks, and the scrumptious chicken wings.
