The Beatles are the most well-known pop group of all time?

The Beatles have become a household name all around the world, whether you think they are the most famous group in history or not. Their early development in 1957 as the Quarrymen would eventually catapult them into world-wide stars. Beatles music is still one of the most popular forms of entertainment and the Beatles anthology goes on.

It is hard to comprehend just what made Beatles music so popular to such a wide audience. Some say it is the lyrics and how each and every song had its own individual appeal. Others claim that the melodies, again wide and different, are the answer to why the songs were so successful. Hits just came out one after the other and gold discs and awards followed in close pursuit.

Whilst, sadly, only two of the group are still alive, the fab four are still selling the albums and dvds. Each member had their part to play, but the bulk of the song writing came from John Lennon and Paul McCartney. It was no surprise that these two went on to be successful when the group split up. Before the death of John Lennon, there were strong rumours that the band were to reform and do a world tour. One can only imagine how popular that would have been and what new material may have come out of it. It is all down to what may have been. It goes without saying, that a final world tour would have been met with delirium from a new wave of fans.

Beatles memorabilia is now most sought after and over the years there is much of it about. Much of it sells for surprising prices and there are many people who treat buying this material not just for a hobby but for investment purposes. Who would have thought back in 1957, including those 4 boys, just what would be the legacy of the legendary Beatles and their fabulous music.
