There are no two opinions about including physical fitness in the school curriculum. These classes help the children understand the importance of a healthy, active lifestyle as against their sedentary lifestyle and unhealthy eating habits. Physical fitness should be a top priority in schools across this country. It's a pity though that many district schools have to curtail or do away with this part of education completely due to budgetary constraints. Children who learn proper physical fitness education are more likely to carry these lessons on into adult hood. In addition to basic fitness knowledge and information about sports and athletic events, physical education classes also serve as health instruction in many school districts. Physical fitness is not only about playing games. In fact, health classes teach kids about the functioning of the human body, basic development, sexual education, and first aid training. It is the duty of the school to inform the next generation about these things. Without physical fitness education the child's overall quality of life cannot improve. President's Physical Fitness program is the best and trusted aspect of any physical fitness session. In order to win the certificate of achievement here the children have to go through the various tasks devised by the panel. Since they can flaunt this certificate as a means of showcasing their achievement, it serves as a great motivation for the children to win this program. The lifestyle of the present generation of kids is such that the only means of exercise for them are the physical fitness exercises. The lives of children are steeped in comfort with either their parents dropping them in cars to schools or they go by bus or cab in contrast with the students in the past who used to either walk, or go by bicycle getting some exercise in turn. After spending hours sitting in the classrooms usually children spend their remaining time by playing video games, surfing Internet or watching television. So, these fitness sessions are a must for them. If your child’s school district is contemplating cutting or discontinuing the school’s physical fitness education program—let your voice be heard! Bring up your concerns with the Parent and Teacher Association or at a meeting of the school board. Offer alternatives to cutting these programs or encourage the school the keep the programs without alteration. The common notion that Physical Fitness Education is not as important as the other subjects is absolutely incorrect. In fact, it is much more important since it provides the only physical activity and a base of knowledge for children beginning their healthy lives. Work to see the importance of these programs and encourage your child’s participation in them and other active extra curricular activities. Begin a fitness regimen with your child and strive to lead a healthy lifestyle. Remember, children learn from example and can easily pick up on your bad habits. Individuals who do not practice proper physical fitness or engage in unhealthy lifestyles can influence children into also adopting this way of life.
