The Spirit of Christmas Christmas is an inherited holiday about a theoretical peace for all of humanity and celebrated in many different ways around the world. Once the celebration of Thanksgiving comes to an end more people realize Christmas is very close behind and start shopping! If Christmas is the season of giving, it stands to reason that Christmas is all about gifts. Therefore Christmas is also an International Festival of Retailing, accumulating in an orgy of exchanging gifts. Shopping through the Internet has become increasingly popular over the last few years, and is a convenient way to complete all your shopping in a short amount of time. Many on-line stores offer Specials only available on-line. On-line retail sales in the U.S. amounted to $65B in 2004, and Predictions for 2008 expect that figure to rise to $117B. An unbelievable variety of merchandise is already available on the Internet, and as time goes on the choices will be even greater. The Internet can be a shopper's paradise. The astute retailer would have made provision to accommodate for the demand as the festive season gets under way, for this is one of their busiest occasions. For an On-Line Marketers' point of view, Christmas is the biggest Niche Market ever. i.e.; All I Want for Christmas Is World Peace .......And the latest –iPod! Plus there are bound to be the last minute shoppers to go on line to find what they can Download - Panic Buyers etc. And don't forget the 12 days of Christmases! The "Twelve Days of Christmas” gifts: A partridge in a pear tree, two turtle doves, three French hens, four calling birds, five gold rings, six geese laying, seven swans swimming, eight maids milking, nine ladies dancing, ten lords leaping, eleven pipers piping, and twelve drummers drumming. Gift cards may seem impersonal, but not only do they make shopping easier to buy on-line, they also ensure the gift is always right, as the person receiving the gift can get just what they need. They can also take advantage of the end of the year sales. After Christmas all the Exchange outlets come into force, to accommodate for all the unwanted gifts.
