Time To Set Your Goals For Lossing Weight?

By: Debi Darline

We believe setting a goal for weight loss is the first and most important thing you can do! Without goals you have no destination. Don't set your goals within easy reach, make it a true goal, one that should scare you not a little, but a lot! You should have goals in all aspects of your life. Even when you reach a goal, set another right away, and remember you can reach any goal you want!

Stephen A. Brennan says Our goals can only be reached through a vehicle of a plan, in which we must fervently believe, and upon which we must vigorously act. There is no other route to success.

So set big goals!

So dream the impossible dream!

Set measurements towards your goals. You can see the progress in steps. Like, I'm going to lose 35 pounds, or I am going to finish the walk for breast cancer! Or I am going to get into these size 34 pants by the new year! One pound, one mile, one inch at a time!

Take time, be realistic, don't try to rush .There are no unrealistic goals, just unrealistic time lines! Set daily, weekly, monthly, yearly steps.

The American College of Sport Medicine, the largest and most respected health, medical and exercise organization, has established guidelines for weight loss. They recommend a weight loss goal of one to two pounds a week. I know it does not sound like a lot but there are problems with rapid weight loss. The trouble with rapid weight loss is that you subject your body to unhealthy conditions. It would be even better if you set your goal to 0.5 to 1 pound a week. Just to make sure you don't burn lean muscle tissue and damage other organs.

Set Reasonable Goals! When setting your goals, you must be reasonable. An unreasonable goal for me would be; I want a body like Jennifer Lopez. Since I have an athletic build (broad shoulders, slim hips and about 1 inch between my rib cage and my hip bone), the only way to get her figure is to graft my body tissue on another skeleton. So her curves (for me) are really not possible. Ok, so it seams I must be reasonable.

Now lets put our goals on paper. The most important first, with all the emotion in that goal.

Be honest with your self, if your not then who will be? Be faithful to your goals, no negatives, just positives, Don't try , Do!

Commit to yourself, commit to your goals.

Easy, No. But the best things in life aren't. It will be wonderful when you accomplish your goals.
