Toenail Fungus Cure #1 - Knowing Nail Fungus Myths and Facts

Onychomycosis, or better known as nail fungus, is a terrible disease that spreads wide and far. It's estimated almost one out of ten people have this condition at a time in their lives. If you have it, don't worry. There's a way out.

This is the first series of the Home Treatment for Toenail Fungus articles, each designed to give you, the reader, the information you need to deal with (or kill mercilessly at) the fungus. First of all, in this article we want to see the myths surrounding Onychomycosis. They are, in no apparent order :

1. It is caused because the person have lack of proper hygiene. This is somewhat wrong and misleading. Nail fungus can happen to the most cleanest person ever because of some factors. But poor hygiene do make things worst if the person already stricken with the disease. This is also why, you can't scrub the fungus away with soap or stuff.

2. You can heal nail fungus in a couple of days. Now this is very, very wrong. The problem is on the nature of the disease. Fungal spores are abundant, and usually stays in dormant state until it grows into fungus. That's why people that get quick cures can see a relapse. Why? Because there's some left over spores, and they multiply rapidly. The quickest treatment can be for at least 6 months.

3. There's no cure for nail fungus. Don't give up hope yet. There's cure for the disease. Granted it's not as quick as healing a sore throat, but with proper discipline and treating it right, you can heal it completely. You can take a look below for more information on another site.

4. There's only one remedy for everyone. This is also wrong. There are many remedies, but it works differently depends on the person. That means that if your condition is unique, some treatment may not go well with you. But the best bet is to learn more about the disease and the remedy.
