Yeast infection, also known as Candidiasis, can be defined as the infection that is caused by fungus of any one of the Candida species, of which the most common is the Candida Albicans. Yeast infection can occur in any part of the body and may range from mild to seriously life threatening diseases. The mild diseases caused by yeast infection are oral infection or oral thrush and Vaginitis. Different Diseases Caused By Yeast Infection Life threatening diseases caused by yeast infection generally occur in people with low immune system and those affected by cancer and aids. The infection caused by yeast that falls in the superficial or mild category i.e., infection of the oral and mucosal regions are most common in human populations today. In people who have a high immune system, yeast infection or mycosis, generally occurs in the localized regions of the skin, such as the oral cavity, the pharynx, intestines, naval, urinary bladder and the vagina. Yeast infection of the vaginal region is known as Vaginitis. However, infection is also known to occur in male genitals. In children, yeast infection mostly occurs in the mouth and tongue regions of the body in the form of some white patches. It is generally seen that oral infection, even if it is a more common one, if not properly controlled may result in some serious diseases and may even spread to the other regions of the body. These diagnostic procedures prove to be very helpful in the evaluation and analyzing of the infection. Depending on the kind of infection, necessary treatment may be carried out. The different treatments include those with antibiotics and also with the help of certain chemicals. However, there are home remedies available to deal with yeast infection. Home remedies are useful only if the infection is minor, but if it is of serious nature, going for medical treatment seems to be the safest option. General Conclusion It is thus seen that yeast infection though not a very serious form of disease, yet needs to be seriously dealt with. This is so because if not treated at the initial stage, the infection may give rise to certain grave diseases. So, a general understanding of the infection is a must to work upon for the treatment and prevention of the infection.
