The significance of spiritual jewelry
Spiritual jewelry has always been a form of celebrating the body as well as a way of transcending into the real essence of the universe. Opposite to immaterial, nihilistic beliefs, most religions in the world offer followers some type of protection in the form of small items of jewelry.
Origin of the Gordian knot
Undoubtedly, the Gordian knot has become one of the most known and most frequently used metaphors. It concerns an issue which is apparently unsolvable, something which requires a radical and brilliant solution. However, the less known aspect concerns the actual origin of the whole legend and the evolution of its perception in time.
Tibetan jewelry representing the eight auspicious symbols of Buddhism
The eight auspicious symbols of Tibetan Buddhism, translated from the Sanskrit ‘Ashtamangala’, are very popular in Tibet and are used for Tibetan jewelry. It is said that Buddha didn’t like to be worshiped as a person and therefore he was reluctant to accept images of himself. Because of that he was mostly represented by the Eight-Spoked Wheel and the Bobhi Tree. Other signs were used in representing him also, like Buddha’s Footprints, an Empty Throne, a Begging Bowl and a Lion.
Talismans and their benefits
Talismans (also called amulets) are objects supposed to bring good luck. Sanctified during a specific ritual, they gain magical powers and have the capacity to keep the negative away from their owner and, even more, to capture positive cosmic energies.
